The Komoka Kings are pleased to announce the return of 2006-born defenceman Owen van de Ven for the 2026-27 season.
van de Ven enters his final season of junior hockey with plenty of experience in various leagues under his belt. Last year, he played in the NOJHL with the Blind River Beavers and the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners, playing a combined 31 games posting two goals and adding seven assists for nine points. It was his second consecutive year playing in the NOJHL, after a 19-game stint with Blind River to end the 2024-25 season.
van de Ven had a previous stint in Komoka, playing with the club in the 2023-24 season after being acquired in a midseason trade from the St. Thomas Stars. He had 8 assists in 22 GP in Komoka after a remarkable 21 points in 27 games with the Stars. A gifted puck mover, he moved on to the Stouffville Spirit the following year.
The Kings look forward to Owen’s return to the Wellness Centre and a big year ahead in the 2026-27 season.
